Dr. Russell A. Pointer, Sr. is a devoted servant of God, passionate preacher, and community leader who has committed his life to spreading the Gospel and uplifting those in need. Born in the Bronx, New York, Dr. Pointer answered the call to ministry at just 11 years old and has since dedicated over four decades to serving Christ and His church.

He currently serves as the Senior Minister of the Minneapolis Central Church of Christ, where his bold preaching, compassionate leadership, and deep scriptural knowledge inspire transformation in the lives of individuals and families across the Twin Cities and beyond.

Dr. Pointer is a graduate of Southwestern Christian College, and he holds a Doctorate in Ministry from Omega Bible Institute. His ministry has taken him across the United States and abroad, ministering to congregations with conviction, clarity, and grace.

In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. Pointer is the Executive Director of the Minneapolis Central Church of Christ Food Shelf, leading hunger relief efforts with a mission to serve all people with dignity and love.

He is also a published author. His debut book, It Is What It Is: Finding Faith and Peace in God’s Plan, explores authentic Christian living in the face of modern challenges and calls believers to stand firmly in biblical truth.

Dr. Pointer and his wife, Sister Gina Pointer, are blessed with a family they deeply cherish, and they continue to work together to serve both the church and the community with humility, strength, and unwavering faith.
